Does depersonalization just happens once? whats the disorder?

some sites say that the disorder is uncurable but some say that they all got cured . i know what it means but whats the difference between dep. and dep.disorder? does depersonalization only happen once during an attack? or can last for a long time in your mind ( like for years) whats the disorder?are they both curable? and if yes how?
