Is malignancy in bone curable?
Hi,I had a surgery for my fractured right tibial bone a year ago.The surgeon performed a metal implantation to repair the fractured the bone. After 4 months of physical therapy,my legs were back to normal condition. But my final x-ray,bone-scan and MRI found out that I had a tumor on my right femur. The radiologist concluded that it was benign but I would have to have physical examination frequently. After 6 months,I did another x-ray and MRI,where radiologist found an increased activity in the area and suggested that it was a possible malignancy. He recommended for biopsy, and further contrast MRI and triple phase bone scan.i am still waiting for the appointments but I'm worried how bad this thing is.I have read that people with metal implants used to repair fractures are more likely yo develop osteosarcoma. How true can it possibly be in my case?Is it curable by a surgery, without having to perform any amputation of the part?
